Apostolos (Metropolitan)
Apostolos (* 1924 in Almyros, Volos , Greece ; † September 27, 2009 in Thessaloniki ; actually Apostolos Papakonstantinou ) was Metropolitan of the Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Greece and Metropolitan of Poliana and Kilkis and Exarch of Macedonia .
Life
Apostolos graduated from the Theological Faculty of Athens University in 1948 with a degree in Orthodox theology . He became in 1950 the deacon ordained and received the 1954 ordination . He was a priest in Kozani .
On June 7, 1967, he was appointed Orthodox Bishop by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece and elected Metropolitan of Zakynthos. In 1991 he became Metropolitan of Poliana and Kilkis and Exarch of Macedonia.
