The Apoteket Hjorten ( German  Hirsch Pharmacy ) in Oslo was a pharmacy in the district of Grønland in Oslo . The name Apoteket Hjorten (Deer Pharmacy) is used in a number of pharmacies in Norway. There are, among other things, Hirsch pharmacies in several Norwegian cities, such as Fredrikstad and Trondheim .

The Osloer Apoteket Hjorten was founded in 1857 in a previous building, according to a royal decree of December 4, 1856. After its opening, the pharmacy was the fifth with a corresponding license in what was then Christiania , today's Oslo. After a fire in 1859 that killed 18 people, a new pharmacy building began to be built on the property. The new building was designed by the Oslo architect, town planner and geometer ( Stadskonduktør ) Chr. H. Grosch and completed in 1861. In 1963, the pharmacy was extensively renovated for the first time and the entire original pharmacy interior and furnishings from 1861, expanded by the pharmacist Anders Tenøe, were given to the Norsk Farmasihistorisk Museum (Norwegian Pharmaceutical History Museum), which belongs to the Norsk Folkemuseum , which is located on the Bygdøy peninsula and Oslo District is located. Then it was restored in the museum and rebuilt true to the original, where you can visit the historic pharmacy facility.

The pharmacy building itself was renovated again in 1986 and again converted into a café in 2000. The premises of the former pharmacy have since been used as a restaurant and café Dattera til Hagen . The new pharmacy, the successor to the old Apoteket Hjorten , was housed in Vitusapotek Hjorten in Smalgangen 5, making it its home in the immediate vicinity. The building of the former Apoteket Hjorten is now a listed building .
