The Apple Support Community is an official platform operated by Apple , which offers the possibility to ask questions about Apple products ( hardware and software ) to other users. The German-speaking community was first available on February 22, 2017.

history

The Apple Support Community went online for the first time on February 22nd, 2017. In January 2019, a new, revised version of the community was released. It is continuously updated and improved.

Functions

Point system

All users have the opportunity to ask questions, answer questions and participate in discussions. The questioner / discussion starter has the option of marking answers as helpful or solved . The marking with helpful gives the respondent 5 reputation points, the marking with solved gives 10 reputation points. If no answer is marked for a longer period of time, Apple has the option of recommending it. There are 7 reputation points for this. Further points can e.g. B. for participating in a conference call (from level 4), creating a user tip (from level 5) or uploading your own avatar (from level 3).

Depending on the number of points, the user rises in his rank. This allows him to gain various advantages in the community.

Awards and benefits

The user can receive an award for certain actions, such as B. Attending a tutorial, reporting an inappropriate contribution or writing a user tip. Some awards also give points, others only serve to motivate the user.

With the reaching of the next user level, the user receives several advantages. Level 1 is available from the start. Level 2 is reached with 150 reputation points. From then on you can report contributions from other users and thus ensure the security and functionality of the community. With 500 points or more you can upload your own avatar and reach level 3. Level 4 requires 1,000 points and you have the right to take part in occasional telephone conferences. Level 5 is titled with 4,000 points. It enables users to create tips to share their knowledge with the community. From level 8, the user has access to the lounge, a separate area for high-ranking community members. There is also the possibility to take part in a meeting with other community members.

Product competencies

Product competencies can be developed through particularly active participation in one area of ​​the community. So you can z. For example , you can reach up to 10 levels for the iPhone by answering questions, uploading pictures, or writing user tips on this topic.
