Applebay Mescalero

The Mescalero is a single-seat glider in composite construction. The wing is designed as a shoulder wing and the tail unit as a T-tail unit. The Mescalero was an open class performance glider.

history

In 1970 , George Applebay designed the Mescalero as a contribution to a competition organized by the Soaring Society of America. 1975 was the first flight. The Mescalero remained a one-off.

construction

The hull is made of GRP . The wing is made of a metal-GRP composite with a very large aspect ratio. All rudders are mass balanced and equipped with automatic connections.
