An applicator is a tubular, nozzle or rod-shaped device

  • for placing decorative details on textiles or furniture etc., see applique
  • for applying materials with certain properties to a base material, for example powder coating or road markings
  • for applying cosmetics , e.g. lip gloss , or drugs , see application form
  • for inserting tampons and the like into body orifices
  • for introducing probes or drugs into the body
  • for applying materials with certain properties to a base material, for example sun protection film on a pane of glass
