As a lip gloss (also Lip gloss , Engl. For lip gloss) is called liquefied, with nourishing ingredients and moisturizing substances enriched makeup lip color, often transparent or shimmering, but also available with a gloss or glitter effect. Lip gloss is available in almost every design, color and aroma and is offered by most cosmetic manufacturers in every price range. Younger women often prefer lip gloss to lipstickor use it as an entry-level product into the cosmetics world, as it is culturally associated with youthfulness and sexuality. Older women like to wear it because it hides small lip wrinkles. In contrast to conventional lipstick, lip gloss only contains around three percent of the color pigments or is transparent.

Lip gloss is mostly offered in small bottles with an applicator or brush, but also in tubes , rotary pens , jars and conventional lipstick shapes. The consistency varies from liquid to sticky. There are also lip glosses with collagen and other substances that are supposed to make the lips look fuller.
