Vincenzo "Enzo" Maresca (born February 10, 1980 in Pontecagnano Faiano ( SA )) is a former Italian football player and today's coach .

Maresca started his career at Cagliari Calcio , but he was never used in Sardinia . For the 1998/99 season, the Italian moved to England to West Bromwich Albion and played there for two seasons.

For the 1999/2000 season he moved to Juventus Turin and returned to Italy. After a season in Turin, he switched to FC Bologna on loan , where he was regularly used. For the 2001/02 season Maresca returned to Juventus Turin, but he could not prevail at the record champions. Therefore, he went to Piacenza Calcio at the beginning of the following season , where he made it straight to the core formation.

For the 2003/04 season Maresca returned to Juve , where he stayed again for only one season. In the 2004/05 season Maresca played for Fiorentina , where he was again regularly used. For the 2005/06 season he was finally sold by Juventus and moved to Spain for Sevilla FC . Here he won a regular place straight away. With two goals in the UEFA Cup final against Middlesbrough FC (2-0 and 3-0 in the meantime), Maresca played a key role in winning the title in 2005/06 . Thanks to his excellent performance, he was also elected man of the final. The following season he was in Seville's successful title defense against Espanyol Barcelona again on the field.

For the 2009/10 season Maresca moved to the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus . On August 30, 2010, the contract was terminated and Maresca left Piraeus .

On December 8th, 2010, after a period of unemployment, Maresca returned to Andalusia and was hired by Málaga FC . On August 30, 2012, Maresca returned to Italy and signed a two-year contract with Sampdoria. He made his first game with Sampdoria on September 2nd during a home game against Siena. The game ended 2-1 for Samp. He scored his first goal of the season on October 6, 2012 with a free kick.

In January 2014, Maresca moved from Sampdoria Genoa to US Palermo , with whom he was able to celebrate the second division championship.

After retiring from his career in summer 2017, Maresca worked as assistant coach to Fulvio Fiorin at Ascoli Picchio FC 1898 . He then worked as an assistant to Vincenzo Montella at Sevilla FC . Maresca has been Manuel Pellegrini's assistant coach at West Ham United in the Premier League since May 2018
