April Steiner Bennett
April Steiner Bennett (born Steiner ; born April 22, 1980 in Mesa, Arizona ) is an American pole vaulter .
In 2004 she was fifth in the US eliminations (Trials) for the Olympic Games in Athens . To fund her training, she participated in the reality show Fear Factor that same year , where she won the grand prize of $ 50,000.
Her breakthrough came in 2007 when she crossed 4.60 meters indoors and won silver at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro .
In 2008 she improved her personal record to 4.63 m and finished second with 4.60 m in the trials for the Beijing Olympic Games . There she came in eighth place with 4.55 m.
