history

Until 2003 there were two swimming pools in Plettenberg. An outdoor pool from the 30s and an indoor pool that was built in the 1970s. Since both bathrooms were in need of renovation, the question was whether the bathrooms should be repaired or completely rebuilt. Finally, through a referendum, three quarters of the people from Plettenberg voted in favor of a new building.

The foundation stone for the AquaMagis was laid in May 2001 and opened in February 2003. In order to increase the attractiveness of the new pool, not only were the two sports pools merged, but slides and a sauna area were also integrated. In the following years it became clear that the visitors mainly came for the slides and not for the sauna area. For this reason, the slide area has been significantly expanded. You started with two slides, the tube slide Black Hole and the tire slide Rafting Slide . These slides have now been demolished and replaced with new slides. The first looping slide in Germany followed in 2008. In 2012, the Green Kick turbo slide, the Captain's Canyon tire slide and the Triple Slide children's slide opened. The Pink Jump slide , a 6-meter free-flight slide, was opened in 2014; 2015 the world's first two standing slides SauerlandSURFER and CrazySURFER . The slides 2Fake Illusion , Formula 3 Race and the Storm Force 1 wind slide were installed in 2018.

All slides in AquaMagis were set up by the Swiss company Klarer Freizeitanlagen.
