The Arab Film Festival Berlin - ALFILM ( Arabic : الفيلم "the film") is one of the largest Arab film festivals in Germany . The focus of the festival is on Arab film, which is demanding in terms of content and art. ALFILM is a non-commercial film festival that has been held annually since 2009 at the end of November by the non-profit association Makan - Center for Arab Film Art and Culture e. V., Berlin .

The focus of the festival is on feature films , as well as documentaries and short films , each produced in an Arab country and not older than three years. The aim of the festival is to open up unusual perspectives on the Arab world and the work of Arab filmmakers. In addition to a multi-faceted and extensive film program, panel discussions and artist talks with filmmakers and experts offer the opportunity for dialogue and creative exchange.
