Arbeidermagasinet

Arbeidermagasinet (Norwegian: Workers' Magazine ) was a weekly Norwegian literary magazine. The magazine was founded in Oslo in 1927 by socialist journalists as an entertainment paper for workers. It reached its largest circulation shortly after the Second World War with 140,000. In 1953 the name was changed to Magasinet For Alle . In 1970, for financial reasons, the magazine had to be discontinued with a circulation of only 20,000.

Regular authors of the magazine were z. B. Aksel Sandemose , Sigurd Hoel , Arnulf Øverland and Helge Krog . Some later well-known authors published their first works in Arbeidermagasinet, such as Arthur Omre , Kåre Holt , Kjell Askildsen , Alf Prøysen , Tor Jonsson and Bjørg Vik .
