Other History Working Group
The working group Other History e. V. was founded on May 8, 1985 in Braunschweig and has set itself the goal of bringing together people who are interested in the history of the city of Braunschweig in the 19th and 20th centuries. The association currently has around 150 members, including several organizations. Martina Staats is the chairperson .
The main focus of the working group, which arose in the course of the establishment of other history workshops in the early 1980s, is on researching regional history , i.e. the social change in the city since industrialization and during the time of National Socialism . In addition, the history of Braunschweig women and that of the city quarters is examined.
On behalf of the city of Braunschweig, the working group looks after the memorial site of the Schillstrasse satellite camp and organizes events and exhibitions on the subject of Braunschweig regional history.
The working group Other History e. V. is a member of the Braunschweigische Landschaft .
