Working group tourism and development

The Tourism and Development Working Group (short: akte , spelling in lower case) is, according to its own information, the only tourism-critical specialist agency in Switzerland . It was on 15 November 1977 at the suggestion of the Berne Declaration of relief organizations , church groups and developmental organizations as simple partnership founded. Akte was established as an association in February 1979 . The initiator and first president of the working group was Regula Renschler , first secretary Ueli Mäder .

purpose

The association wants to inform the public about the problems of tourism . The focus is on tourism in the Third World . He advocates fair relationships between all those involved in tourism and shows alternatives on how tourism can be made fairer.

International networking

The association is a member of The Working Group for Sustainable Tourism Development (DANTE), the network of 15 development and environmental policy initiatives and organizations from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The association is also a member of the Third World European Network (TEN), the network of European tourism-critical organizations.
