The Arbil FC (officially: Erbil Sports Club ) is an Iraqi - Kurdish football club based in Erbil .
The club, which was founded in 1958, has won four national championships so far (2006/07, 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2011/12), thereby breaking the dominance of the clubs from the capital Baghdad . Erbil SC is the first Iraqi-Kurdish football club to qualify for the AFC Champions League . In the AFC Cup 2011 you could also reach the semi-finals.
Erbil SC has played continuously in the Iraqi Super League since 1987 . After the club withdrew after twelve match days in the 2016/17 season , he was the first to be relegated to the second-rate Iraq Division One .
