Archicad

Archicad is a CAD / BIM - software for architects , which is developed by the company Graphisoft. Graphisoft has been part of the Nemetschek Group since 2007 . Over 200,000 planners worldwide work with Archicad.

Product overview

It is a development for the construction industry. The basis is the so-called BIM (Building Information Modeling), which was previously called Virtual Building at Graphisoft : 3D model data, dimensions, material properties, classifications and properties are saved. From this, plans can be generated in all phases of architecture such as work planning , rendered models, mass lists, living space calculations, detailed plans, parts lists or the 3D building model can be transferred to a tendering program via the IFC interface.

The current version (2019) is Archicad 23, supported operating systems are Microsoft Windows 10 , Microsoft Windows 8 , Apple Mac OS X on Intel CPU. The file format for standard projects is PLN . Other Archicad file formats are PLA (plan archives), TPL (project templates) , MOD (plan modules) and PMK (PlotMaker files). Interfaces are available for DXF, DWG, IFC and DGN files.

The BIM Server has been part of the program since Archicad 13 , since 2018 the BIM Server has been called BIMcloud Basic and is included in Archicad's scope of delivery. The paid version is called BIMcloud and offers an extended range of functions. With the BIMcloud and Archicad the user can work with Teamwork 2.0; Several users work simultaneously from different computers on a project that is hosted on the BIMcloud.

Various additional products are available for Archicad that expand the scope of services.
