Architekturbild ev is an association for the promotion of artistic architectural photography .

The non-profit association was founded in March 2003 in the Bundeskunsthalle Bonn and entered in the Stuttgart register of associations in the same year.

European Architecture Photography Prize architekturbild

The association praises the European Architecture Photography Prize architekturbild in cooperation with the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt. He organizes and supports exhibitions with the award-winning picture series and publishes these works in catalogs.

The prize was founded in 1995 under the name "db architekturbild" . Until 2003 it was advertised by the db deutsche bauzeitung magazine . The award was supported by 21 European architecture and photography magazines, including the French magazine L'architecture d'aujourd'hui and the Italian cultural magazine Domus . In 2004, the association took over the management of the prize, which is thus continued independently and in the sense of cultural non-profit. According to information from architekturbild e. V. promotes the quality of the medium of photography as an art form.

The prize is awarded every two years on a specific topic and will be awarded for the thirteenth time in 2019. The topics were:

175 photographers from 14 countries took part in the European Architectural Photography Prize architekturbild 2013. The prize is endowed with 6,000 euros: the first prize with 4,000 euros, the two second prizes with 1,000 euros each. In addition, the jurors give several awards and recognitions. These 28 series of images are exhibited and documented online and in a catalog.

Since 2009 the award ceremony and first exhibition have taken place in the German Architecture Museum in Frankfurt. Afterwards, the pictures are shown in various galleries, museums, at trade fairs and at festivals. a. in KAZimKUBA , in the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn, in the vhs-photogalerie in Stuttgart and at various Goethe Institutes .
