Archive of the present. The worldwide documentation for politics and economy (abbreviated: AdG , originally: Keesing's Archive of the Present ) was a periodical publication that appeared from July 1931 to December 2004 and reported on important political events in all countries of the world on the basis of newspaper and agency reports . It was published by Siegler-Verlag for time archives in Königswinter .

Isaac Keesing Jr. (1886–1966) founded the Keesings Historisch Archief ( ISSN  0165-3660 ) in July 1931 , the German-language edition of which was edited by Heinrich von Siegler (1899–1986). There was also an English-language edition of Keesing's contemporary archives ( ISSN  0022-9679 , until 1986).

Most recently, the AdG appeared monthly with around 80 pages. It was mainly obtained from libraries. For each year there was a person and subject index, which the libraries usually bound together with the issues of the year to form an annual volume. At the end of 2004 the publication was discontinued. CD-ROM editions have also been published since the 1990s .

The Dutch edition of Keesings Historisch Archief , which initially continued to appear , was no longer published by Keesing Verlag since the beginning of 2000, but by the Stichting Keesings Historisch Archief (Keesings Historisches Archiv Foundation). It was discontinued at the end of 2013.

A comparable English-language publication is the Facts on File Yearbook , which has appeared in New York since 1941 ( ISSN  0196-2981 ).

In 2000 Siegler Verlag brought the Archive of the Present - Germany 1949 to 1999 in 10 volumes ( ISBN 3-87748-611-8 ) onto the market.
