The archive tower is a defense tower in Brugg in the canton of Aargau . It formed part of the earlier city wall and is a cultural asset of regional importance .

Building history / description

The three-quarter round tower was built between 1558 and 1564 as part of the western city wall. It is provided with loopholes (mouth loop). Projecting over a high coffin cornice is a wreath of key notches, behind which is the battlement . The Reformed City Church is located directly behind the archive tower .
