Ardamore
The townland Ardamore ( Irish Arda Mór ) near Lispole or Anascaul on the Dingle Peninsula in County Kerry in Ireland is the location of a row of stones and a menhir ( English standing stones ).
The approximately 7.55 m long north-west-south-east oriented row of stones is located on a western slope with a view over the Lispole valley and consists of three stones.
- The tallest stone in the northeast is about 3.0 m high, 1.7 m wide and 0.4 m thick.
- The middle stone is about 1.4 m away. It is 2.2 m high, 1.1 m wide and 0.4 m thick.
- The third stone is about 1.65 m away. It is 2.1 m high, 1.3 m wide and 0.5 m thick.
- The Ardamore menhir is about 60 m away.
The arrangement of the row of stones and the menhir is very similar to that in Rossnakilla in County Cork . The outlier ( English outlier ) is about 2.9 meters high, 2.0 meters wide and thick at the base over half a meter. The northwest side is decorated with cup-and-ring markings . Is above the middle of the stone a small dish ( English cup ) with two concentric rings, including, there are two, each with a ring. Near the base of the stone there are two cup and ring motifs with radial lines. The stone also has seven simple bowls and a series of grooves. The outlier's rock carvings are unusual.
Minard Castle (Ireland) , the Menhir of Graigue and the Wedge Tomb of Doonmanagh are close by.
