Area diagnosis

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The complex diagnostic (lat. Arealis ( "space, limited space."); Gr diagnosis ( "assessment")) is a mainly engaged in plant geography common term. Usually this means a characterization of an area using formula-like short forms.

Diagnostic criteria

The three criteria of the area diagnosis are according to Meusel, Jäger and Weinert: " Zonality , oceanity and altitude level connection ". These are first worked out individually and then in context. For example, the area diagnosis for the lady's mantle plant is : meridional / alpine - temperate / montane to boreal in oceanic Europe and western Asia.
