Areknamés is an Italian progressive rock band from Pescara , which was founded in 2001 as Mors in Fabula.

Band history

Michele Epifani and Simone Antonini had been active together since the late 1990s in the band Lentofumo, which was later completed by Stefano Colombi and renamed Arco del Pendolo. After Piero Ranalli joined the band, they called themselves Lentofumo again. Both projects, which were influenced by the progressive rock and Canterbury sound of the 1970s, did not release any albums.

In 2001 they started demo recordings and sent them, now under the name Mors in Fabula, to various record companies. Black Widow Records noticed her and signed her. The band changed their name again, now to Areknamés, and recorded their self-titled debut album between March and November 2002 , which was released in 2003. After a few line-up changes, Love Hate Round Trip was released in 2006 and won the ProgAwards. In 2007 the band performed at the Burg-Herzberg-Festival , a recording was released in 2008. The third studio album followed in 2010.
