Argemiro Pinheiro da Silva , called Argemiro , (born June 3, 1915 in Ribeirão Preto , SP , † July 4, 1975 ibid) was a Brazilian national football player . He played in the position of midfielder.

career

Argemiro started his career at the Rio Preto EC in 1931 at the age of sixteen. Due to his good performance, he was committed to the AA Portuguesa (Santos) in 1935 . In 1938 he went to the FIFA World Cup for CR Vasco da Gama to Rio de Janeiro .

National team

He played his first official international match at the 1938 World Cup on June 14, 1938 in a replay against Czechoslovakia . This was his only use in the tournament. Argemiro also played international matches at the Copa Roca in 1939/40 and 1940. He also played at the Copa Río Branco in 1940. His last appearances were at the Campeonato Sudamericano in 1942 . He could not win titles in any of the competitions with the selection team.

Trivia

In Blumenau he is the namesake of the Rua Argemiro Pinheiro da Silva .
