Argus As 411 A

The Argus As 411 was an aircraft engine from the German manufacturer Argus Motoren Gesellschaft , which was developed from the Argus As 410 .

The 25% increase in performance was achieved by increasing the boost pressure and engine speed. This made it possible to improve the performance to 600 hp. In order to dissipate the increased heat, the cylinders were fitted with air baffles and ducts, which accelerated the cooling air through the exhaust gas nozzles designed as jet ejectors . This enabled the cooling performance to be increased with the same air resistance . The charger ratio was changed for the boost pressure. In addition, the As-410/411 engines had a single-lever control which, with the help of an automatic boost pressure and mixture regulator, together with the ignition adjustment and the propeller regulator, always kept the engine in the most favorable control state.

After the Second World War , the engine was first built by Renault and later by SNECMA in a number of around 3,000 units until the 1960s.
