Arhat Temple (Chongqing)

The Arhat Temple or Luohan Temple of Chongqing ( Chinese  重庆 罗汉寺 , Pinyin Chongqing Luohan si ) is an important Buddhist temple from the time of the Northern Song Dynasty . It is located in the Yuzhong District . In earlier times, until 1942, he was officially known under the name Huálín sì (華林寺; W.-G .: Hua Lin Ssu ).

The temple is one of the national focus temples of Buddhism in Han Chinese areas . It is the seat of the Buddhist Society of Chongqing (Chongqing shi Fojiao xiehui).
