The Friedberg grammar school in Gossau SG is a semi- private school based on Christian values with Catholic roots. The grammar school offers a federally recognized Matura as a qualification . The school was founded in 1926 by German Pallottines as their junior school and is now run by a foundation . Since it was founded, the number of students at the grammar school has increased to just over 200 today.

Today the school is recognized as a cultural institution in Gossau and the Fürstenland region . In addition, the Friedberg grammar school is a member of the Association of Swiss Private Schools ( VSP ) and the Association of Catholic Schools Switzerland (KSS).

Lukas Krejčí, who also visited Friedberg, has been the principal of the school since February 1, 2013. The prorector is Sebastian Lamm.

  • Ivo Fürer (* 1930), later Bishop of St. Gallen, was the first external student at the Friedberg grammar school in 1944
  • Markus Bischoff (* 1956), lawyer and politician, Zurich Cantonal Council.
