Amanda Ammann

Amanda Ammann (born January 8, 1987 in Uzwil , Canton of St. Gallen ) was elected Miss Switzerland 2007 on October 13, 2007 . Since then she has been working as a brand ambassador and presenter . Her main job is as a management consultant for one of the largest consulting firms in Switzerland.

Life

Amanda Ammann is the daughter of the secondary school teacher, former cantonal councilor and national ice hockey league A player Richard Ammann . Her mother is from the Czech Republic . During her childhood and youth, Ammann was a member of various sports clubs. For many years she was an active member of the lifeguard organization SLRG SSS and the athletics club LC Uzwil and played football for FC Uzwil . When she was 12 she attended Highland Oaks Middle School in Miami . In 2005 she graduated from the Friedberg grammar school in Gossau SG .

At the time of the 2007 Miss Switzerland election, Ammann was living in Lausanne and studying international relations at the University of Geneva . During her year in office, she performed representative functions for numerous well-known brands. She also campaigned for charitable organizations such as Amnesty International and SOS Children's Villages .

After her year in office, she continued her studies in Geneva and graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2010. She then worked as a university intern at the Swiss embassy in Manila . Between 2011 and 2013 she studied International Affairs and Governance at the University of St. Gallen and obtained her master's degree. In 2016, she completed a second master's degree in human rights , peace and sustainable development at the University of Valencia .

During and after her training, Amanda Ammann worked in international cooperation and managed projects in the field of sustainability and economic development in emerging and developing countries . Since 2020 she has been a board member of the Swiss non-profit organization cewas , which supports entrepreneurs with innovative ideas worldwide through training and also promotes regional development in Switzerland. She speaks fluent German , French , Spanish and English .
