Ariadaeus is an impact crater on the front of the moon at the western edge of Mare Tranquillitatis , north of Dionysius and at the eastern end of the lunar groove Rima Ariadaeus . The crater is bowl-shaped and hardly eroded.

The crater was created in 1935 by the IAU after the Macedonian King Philip III. Arrhidaios officially named.
