Aristoxenus from Selinus
Aristoxenus of Selinus was an ancient Greek poet. He came from the Greek colony of Selinus in Sicily.
Nothing has come down to us from his works. According to a testimony from Epicharm , he composed iambs . This is why he has often been incorrectly referred to as a comedy poet. Eusebius of Caesarea placed Aristoxenus in his chronicle around the 28th Olympiad , i.e. in the 7th century BC. BC and places him next to Archilochus and Semonides .
