The Arizona State Route 261 (short- AZ 261 ) is a state highway in the US state of Arizona , the South-North direction is in.
The State Route begins on Arizona State Route 273 at Crescent Lake and ends 18 miles west of Eagar on Arizona State Route 260 . After about 16 kilometers, AZ 261 passes Mexican Hay Lake in the west . The road runs through the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and serves as a link from Eagar and Springerville to the White Mountains and Big Lake .
