Arkady Luxembourg

Arkady Luxemburg (* 1939 ) is a Moldovan - American composer.

Live and act

Luxemburg received a Master of Arts at the University of Music in Chișinău , Republic of Moldova in the former Soviet Union , where he studied piano, composition and music theory. He worked as a teacher, concert pianist and song accompanist at various institutions around the world. His stations include the Republic of Moldova Academy of Music, Moldova College of Music, Republic of Moldova School of Music, San Diego State University , Mesa College, California Ballet and David Yellin College. Several of his students became known worldwide, including Oleg Maisenberg and Mark Seltzer .

Luxemburg has written several works on music theory and harmony. In 1967 he was named Moldovan composer of the year. He is a member of the Association of Composers and the ASCAP in the USA.

His most famous symphonic works include: Sinfonietta , Symphony for Strings, Two Concerts for Piano with Orchestra, Concerto for Violoncello with Orchestra, Symphony Fantasy Spring Melodies . Well-known works for piano solo are: Aquarelie , In Memory of Shostakowitsch , In Memory of Gershwin , Sonata, Sonatina, Bluses , Preludes .

Much of his work has been recorded. They are regularly released and played in the Czech and Slovak Republics , the former Soviet Union, Romania , Hungary , Israel , France, and the United States. In 1990 Luxemburg moved to Israel, where he continued his career as an interpreter, composer and teacher. Since 1995 he has lived in San Diego , California .
