Arlt Computer is a trading company for computer products with headquarters in Magstadt, Baden-Württemberg .
Arlt employs around 160 people at 18 locations. At times the company had 20 branches. The company consists of two legally independent companies that are united under the umbrella of Scheller Holding GmbH . The Arlt Computer GmbH operates 18 retail stores in southern Germany. For Arlt Computer GmbH are both a wholesale distribution for companies, universities and institutes as well as a direct mail for private customers.
history
1958 opened an electronics store in Stuttgart am Feuersee . It was the third branch of Arlt Radio Elektronik GmbH from Walter Arlt, who already had an electronic parts mail order business and electronics stores in Berlin and Düsseldorf. In 1968 the company moved to a larger shop on Katharinenstrasse. At the end of the 1970s, the first game consoles and home computers were added to the range. In 1989 Robin Scheller, Walter Arlt's grandson, took over the branch and in 1991 converted it into a pure computer specialist shop. In 1994 he opened a second Arlt computer store in Reutlingen . In the following years, further branches were opened all over southern Germany. In 1998 the company moved its headquarters to Filderstadt and has been based in Magstadt since 2000 .
