Arménio Vieira

Arménio Adroaldo Vieira e Silva (born January 24, 1941 in Praia , Santiago ) is a lusophonic writer and journalist from Cape Verde .

Life

As an active member of the 1960s generation, he worked on SELÓ - folha dos novíssimos , Boletim de Cabo Verde , the magazine Vértice (Coimbra), Raízes , Ponto & Vírgula , Fragmentos , Sopinha de Alfabeto and other organs. He was editor of the now closed newspaper Voz di Povo .

In 1981 he published his work Poemas . In 2009 he was the first Cape Verdean to receive the Prémio Camões . In June 2013 he published O Brumário and Derivações do Brumário as the beginning of a series of "free verse, poetic and other notes".
