Armando (music producer)

Armando (actually Armando Luis Gallop , born February 12, 1970 in Chicago , USA , † December 17, 1996 ) was an American DJ and music producer with Cuban roots.

With classics like Land Of Confusion or 151 (partly written 1-5-1 ) Armando was one of the founders of the acid house scene in Chicago, but he also has some house classics like 100% Of Disin 'You . He founded his own label with Warehouse Records in 1988, the name of which was based on the legendary house club.

Life

leukemia

Armando fell ill with leukemia , but had no health insurance and therefore had to bear the long and expensive hospital stays himself. After the release of his last album One World One Future , a charity tour was organized. a. made a stop in Germany in September 1996. A number of colleagues from the global techno DJ and producer environment performed on this tour and waived their fees in favor of Armando's treatment. Techno-Fanzine also provided free ad space for this purpose. Despite this great commitment, Armando died of the disease on December 17, 1996.
