Poor black cat

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Poor black cat is a reaction game for children that is played in different variations, especially on children's birthdays and in children's groups.

Style of play

All players sit in a circle . At the beginning of the game, a player is selected to represent the cat . He crawls to a person on all fours and maunts them to select them. The task of the chosen one is quite simple: he just has to stroke the cat ( cheek , head or back ) and clearly say “Poor black cat” three times without laughing. The cat can try to make the selected player laugh by means of grimaces , hissing, meowing or funny, cat-like movements . However, he has to stay on the ground and in the role of a cat and is not allowed to speak. It is also forbidden for the cat to tickle the chosen one . All other players are allowed to comment on the two active players.

If the cat does not manage to make the chosen teammate laugh, he has to choose another teammate and try again. However, if the cat makes a selected player laugh, or if the chosen one cannot clearly pronounce “Poor black cat” (because of the suppressed laughter), he becomes the new cat. In addition, it can be played as a pawn game, in which the laughing child has to give a deposit.
