Armin Ronacher (2010)

Armin Ronacher (born May 10, 1989 ) is an Austrian open source developer and creator of the web framework Flask .

career

Ronacher began his work in the field of open source development as a freelance developer and administrator in the Ubuntu portal ubuntuusers . He later also took part in the establishment of the Ubuntu Germany association through the portal.

While working at ubuntuusers, he also developed some of the first WSGI implementations for Python , most of which, however, never achieved the status of a stable release. In the later course of time, however, many other projects emerged from these attempts: the Pygments syntax highlighter , the Sphinx documentation generator, the Jinja template engine and many other Python libraries . When a microframework in which Ronacher combined many of his libraries as part of an April Fool's joke received significantly more attention than the actual projects, he decided to start developing Flask. Along with Django, Flask is one of the most widely used Python web frameworks today .
