The Armoricans ( lat . Armoricani ) were a people in Aremorica , an area that roughly includes present-day Brittany and the coast of Normandy as far as Dieppe . The people inhabited this area in the Iron Age , but there is ample evidence of previous settlement in this part of Gaul . Strabo and Poseidonius described the Armoricans as belonging to the Belgians .
