Robinet as Mayor of Reims (2017)

Arnaud Robinet (born April 30, 1975 in Reims ) is a French politician . He was a member of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2017 .

Robinet was a medical student when he was elected to the Reims City Council in 2001 for the Démocratie Libérale , of which he had been a member since 1998. As such, he became the confidante of Mayor Jean-Louis Schneiter . This helped him to run for the regional elections in 2004, which were unsuccessful. At the end of 2008, Robinet ran for a by-election in the first constituency of the Marne department for parliament, which had become necessary after the resignation of the previous MP Renaud Dutreil . In this he succeeded in entering the National Assembly for the UMP , into which the Démocratie Libérale had merged. In 2011 he was appointed to the General Council of the Marne department. In 2012 he was re-elected as a Member of Parliament.

He was elected mayor of the city of Reims in the 2014 local elections and took office on April 4th.
