Arnaud des Pallières (born December 1, 1961 in Paris ) is a French film director and screenwriter .

Life

Arnaud des Pallières initially worked as an actor and founded the company Théâtre en demeure together with his friend Jean-Pierre Rehm . He then studied directing at the renowned La fémis film school in Paris. There he was able to win over the philosopher Gilles Deleuze for a lecture in 1987 , from which the video Gilles Deleuze: Qu'est-ce que l'acte de création? emerged.

After a series of short films, he released his first full-length feature film production in 1997, Drancy Avenir . This was followed by the films Adieu and Parc in 2003 and 2008, and the documentary Der Dust America in 2011 , which was also shown on German television.

His film Michael Kohlhaas, based on the novel of the same name by Heinrich von Kleist , received an invitation to compete at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in 2013 . The Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen can be seen in the leading role .
