Arnulf Conradi

Arnulf Conradi (born September 14, 1944 in Soldau , East Prussia ) is the founder and former publisher of Berlin Verlag .

Life

Conradi studied American studies and received his doctorate with his work on the American novel. From 1975 he worked as a lecturer and publishing manager at Claassen-Verlag and in 1983 switched to S. Fischer as chief editor and was promoted to program manager four years later. In 1993 he founded together with Siegfried Unseld the Berlin Verlag , which he for the 1998 Bertelsmann AG went in 2003 to Bloomsbury . Conradi managed the publishing house as a publisher until 2005, when he handed over the management of the publishing house to the previous editor-in-chief Elisabeth Ruge .

Conradi is a passionate ornithologist and published a new edition of the birds of Central Europe by Johann Friedrich Naumann in 2009 . His personal non-fiction book Zen and the Art of Bird Watching was published in 2019 .
