Martin Kuester
Martin Kuester (* around 1958 ) is a German Anglicist .
Life
Kuester studied English and Romance languages at the universities of Aachen , Caen , University of British Columbia and Trier between 1977 and 1984 and passed the first state examination in 1984 . From 1984 to 1987 he was at the University of Manitoba , where he received his doctorate in 1990 with a thesis on Canadian historical novels.
Between 1987 and 1999 he was a research assistant and assistant at the University of Augsburg , where he completed his habilitation in 1998. Kuester has been a professor at the Philipps University of Marburg since 1999 , and since 2001 Managing Director of the Marburg Center for Canadian Studies , from 2008 to 2011 he was the Dean of Studies for the Department of Foreign Language Philologies and 2011-2013 President of the Society for Canadian Studies, GKS.
Kuester's focus is on literary theory as well as Canadian and British literature.
