The University of Caen ( French : Université de Caen Basse-Normandie ) in Caen was founded in 1432, making it one of the oldest universities in France . It currently has around 25,000 students.
Locations
Campus 1 is located in the city center and accommodates students from the following directions:
- Foreign languages, geography, law, history, psychology, French, philosophy, economics
Campus 2:
- Sports, math, chemistry, physics, engineering, IUT
Campus 3:
- IUT Communication d'IFS
Campus 4 (near the CHU)
- Economics
There is also the medical faculty in the CHU and the nursing school and the pharmacy faculty near the CHU. On January 1, 2008, the IUFM was incorporated into the university as a faculty. The university has offices in Cherbourg , Saint-Lô (IUFM), Vire , Alençon and Lisieux .
