University of Saint-Etienne

The University of Saint-Étienne or Jean Monnet University is the university of the French city of Saint-Étienne and was founded on March 27, 1969 . She took the name of one of the founding fathers of the European Community , Jean Monnet , in 1989 ten years after his death. The University of Saint-Étienne is a full state university and had 14,002 students in the 2005/06 academic year.

In addition to four campuses in Saint-Étienne, the university also has a branch in the city of Roanne in the same department .

The university has joined forces with ten other universities in Saint-Etienne to form the Pôle universitaire de Saint-Etienne .
