The University of Perpignan Via Domitia ( French : Université de Perpignan Via Domitia or just Université de Perpignan ) is a state university in the southern French city ​​of Perpignan with a total of 9,500 students.

The University of Perpignan was founded in 1349 by King Peter IV of Aragón and only reopened in 1971 after it was closed in 1794 . Today it consists of 5 faculties , 3 institutes and 4 schools. The president of the university is Fabrice Lorente.
