The Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (UAG) was a university with five locations in the French overseas regions of French Guiana in South America and Guadeloupe and Martinique in the Caribbean . It was divided into six faculties ( UFR ) and five institutes and had around 12,000 students. The Université de Guyane emerged from the campus in French Guiana and has been independent from the Université des Antilles since 2014 .

The college was the only French university in America and one of four outside of mainland France ( France metropolitaine ).
