AgroParisTech ( Institut des Sciences et Industries du Vivant et de l'Environnement ) is a French institute for education and scientific research. It is a member of the Center for Research and Higher Education and enjoys the status of a major institution .

history

The institute was founded on January 1st, 2007 by the following three engineering universities:

  • INA-PG - Institut National Agronomique de Paris-Grignon
  • ENGREF - Ecole Nationale du Génie Rural, des Eaux et des Forêts
  • ENSIA - Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Agricoles et Alimentaires

AgroParisTech is a member of the Paris Institute of Technology ( ParisTech ), a consortium of the ten most important French engineering universities . AgroParisTech, together with INRA , Cemagref-IRSTEA , AFSSA , the National Veterinary College of Alfort (ENVA) and the National School of Landscape Architecture of Versailles (ENSP), belongs to the network of bio- and environmental science and technology of the Paris region.

The five chairs are divided into:

  • Agricultural, forest, water and environmental sciences and technology
  • Life Science and Health
  • Food Science and Biomaterial
  • Social, Economics and Management
  • Mathematics, computer science and physics

education

AgroParisTech offers the following scientific program:

  • 3 different Masters in engineering:
  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Food science
  • forestry
  • 1 Master of Science with 5 majors, which encompasses the majority of the life sciences and technology field.
  • 1 very broad spectrum of doctoral programs
  • 1 post-master's degree in management and administration in environmental economics and policy, offered by ENGREF.
  • 9 professional post-masters (one-year postgraduate training)

Data

In 2012 there were 2,000 students and 450 doctoral students at the institute . 230 scientific staff worked with 300 researchers in 39 research units. There are a total of nine campuses , four of them in Paris and in the Paris region.
