EM Strasbourg Business School is a French business school based in Strasbourg . It was founded in 1919 on the initiative of the Strasbourg Chamber of Commerce and Industry and is the third largest branch of the University of Strasbourg .

The EM Strasbourg has had the status of a grande école since 2000, making it one of France's most prestigious and respected business schools . In current “rankings” the university is among the fifteen best in its class.

The geographical location of Strasbourg in the heart of Europe, together with its European institutions, gave EM Strasbourg an international focus right from the start. This is reflected in the more than 200 partner universities worldwide and a compulsory academic year abroad for students in the Grande école program . The German partner universities include a. the University of Hamburg as well as the Kühne Logistics University Hamburg, the University of Tübingen , the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg , the ESB Business School Reutlingen and the Technical University of Dresden .

history

  • In 1919 the IECS was founded by the Chambre de commerce et d'industrie de Strasbourg et du Bas-Rhin (CCI).
  • In 1956 the IECS became part of the University of Strasbourg. It is therefore one of the first business schools in France to be affiliated with a public university.
  • In 1999, together with the Institut d'administration des entreprises (IAE), the IECS moved into the completely renovated Pôle européen de gestion et d'économie (PEGE), a former brick-built military building not far from the campus of the University of Strasbourg.
  • In 2000 the IECS received the status of a Grande école .
  • In 2007, the IECS merged with the Institut d'administration des entreprises (IAE), creating the educational institution in question.

Study program

Economics courses with specialization options are offered, including the Grande école program , master’s programs, executive MBA programs , bachelor ’s programs , part-time programs and doctoral programs.

Grande école program

The Grande école program comprises three standard years of study, one of which must be spent abroad at one of the partner universities. As a rule, enrollment requires a completed two-year preparatory class ( classe préparatoire ) and the passing of a very selective entrance examination.

Partnerships and networks

In addition to more than 200 international partner universities, the business school maintains good contacts with around 200 partner companies that are involved in the EMStrasbourg-Partenaires program and hold regular conferences at the school on current business issues . In addition, EM Strasbourg is involved as a co-organizer of the Alsace Tech forum and the Franco-German forum.
