The École des ingénieurs de la ville de Paris (short: EIVP ; German: "Engineering School of the City of Paris") is the only French Grande école d'Ingénieurs with an emphasis on urban planning . The university was founded in 1959 on the initiative of the city of Paris. She has been associated with the École des Ponts et Chaussées since 2009 . She is a member of the Center for Research and Higher Education PRES ( Pôle de recherche et d'enseignement supérieur ) at the Université Paris-Est . The college is located at 15 rue Fénelon in Paris. The new campus will open in September 2012 at 60, rue Rébeval in the 19th arrondissement of Paris.

Originally founded to ensure the next generation of civil servants for the Paris city administration, it now also trains young people for the private sector. The main subjects of study are: civil engineering , spatial planning , transport planning , environmental sciences and energy supply .

Students abroad can apply via the Erasmus program or the "N + i-Network", interns are also welcome.

The EIVP maintains partnerships with the Technical University of Dresden and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology .

Degrees and seminars

  • Graduated as a civil engineer. Graduation possible after three years.
  • Combined diploma as engineer and architect. Offered in collaboration with the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Paris-La Villette (ENSAPLV). Graduation possible after five years.
  • Masters , jointly accredited with the École des Ponts, in Urban Engineering and Computer Science (URBANTIC). Graduation possible after five years.
  • Short seminar for sustainable urban development .
  • Summer seminar (month of August) for urban problems.
