The "Master in Management" course is listed in 5th place worldwide by the Financial Times, the Master in Finance in 2nd place worldwide. As one of 76 universities worldwide, the ESCP is three times accredited by AACSB , EQUIS and AMBA .

history

In 1819 entrepreneurs in France founded the world's first business school , which soon traded under the name “Ecole Supérieure de Commerce de Paris” (ESCP).

In 1973 the German location of today's transnational business school, the EAP European School of Management, was founded in Düsseldorf. This was created on the initiative of the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIR: CCI Paris Île-de-France de Paris). The background to the foundation was that French entrepreneurs saw the need to prepare young managers for the emerging Europe in the early 1970s. They founded a university that initially started its work with a three-year study program at locations in Paris , Oxford and Düsseldorf .

In the following years, the German location moved to Berlin in 1985 , was recognized by the State of Berlin as a scientific university in 1988 , and gradually expanded the number of programs - in collaboration with the other European locations, to which Madrid was added in 1987 as the fourth .

In 1997 the university moved into the former building of the Kaiserin-Auguste-Viktoria-Infant home at Heubnerweg 8-10 in Charlottenburg . The buildings in the neo-baroque style were erected between 1907 and 1909 under the direction of the architect and Berlin city planning officer Ludwig Hoffmann . The planning was largely carried out by Alfred Messel and Edmund May in the years 1906 to 1907.

In 2002 the university received AACSB accreditation. This makes it one of the first business schools to receive the triple crown : EQUIS , AMBA and AACSB . Turin was added as a location in 2004 . In 2009 the university changed its name and became the ESCP , after having operated under the name ESCP-EAP for ten years, since 1999 .

In 2011, the ESCP became a founding partner of the University of Sorbonne Arts et Métiers (HESAM), a network of well-known research institutions and universities in the humanities and social sciences such as the École nationale d'administration (ENA), the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers or the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne .

In 2015, the branch in Warsaw was opened in the buildings of the Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego .
