The German University for Health and Sport (DHGS) (formerly: H: G University for Health & Sport, Technology & Art) is a state-recognized private university of applied sciences with its headquarters in Berlin. Further study centers are located in Ismaning (near Munich ) and Unna (in North Rhine-Westphalia ). The DHGS was founded in 2007 and offers courses in the fields of health and sport. The sponsor is the DHGS German University for Health and Sport GmbH (Berlin).
Study concept
The university pursues a semi-virtual study concept. The students come to the university for 3 weeks per semester and attend full-day face-to-face events. The rest of the time is studied via an online learning platform . The learning platform also serves as a communication medium for the exchange with lecturers and fellow students . The course content is conveyed in multimedia form via the online platform. For example, instructional videos, set of slides, PDF documents, online tests, virtual classrooms or wikis are used. This approach to imparting knowledge is known as blended learning .

The university offers bachelor's and master's degrees in the fields of health and sport. Depending on the course, the academic degrees Bachelor of Science , Bachelor of Arts , Master of Science or Master of Arts can be obtained.

State recognition and accreditation
The Berlin Senate Chancellery for Science and Research has given the DHGS German University for Health and Sport state recognition. At the same time, the university was institutionally accredited by the Science Council. The DHGS has been system- accredited by FIBAA since September 2015 .
