The Fachhochschule für Rechtspflege North Rhine-Westphalia is an administrative college of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia in Bad Münstereifel . It was founded in 1976 as the successor to the Bad Münstereifel school for the administration of justice and is divided into the departments of administration of justice and the penal system . The task of the technical college is to train the civil servants of the higher service in the courts and public prosecutor's offices ( Rechtspfleger ), in the administration of justice and in the penal system.

Since the course, including the specialist internships, is also a preparatory service for the respective career, the students are selected by the responsible recruiting authorities, the higher regional courts of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in Hamm, Düsseldorf and Cologne, and are revocable during the course as civil servants . After passing the career examination, the students of the Faculty of Justice are awarded the academic degree of a Diplom-Rechtsspflegers (FH) and those of the Department of Prisons are awarded a Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH). With the handing over of this diploma the civil servant relationship is terminated by law and you are appointed civil servant on probation .

Only students of the North Rhine-Westphalian judiciary are trained in the administration of justice. The penal system, on the other hand, is working with nine other federal states to train the next generation of senior prison and administrative services in these states.

In addition to these core areas, since January 1, 2007, the University of Applied Sciences has also been providing advanced training for legal clerks for the public prosecutor's service , again across borders .

In addition, the University of Applied Sciences organizes a considerable number of training courses specific to the judiciary.
